We as a BOI company faced a lot of challenges in past few years due to the poor economical decisions taken by the past government. We strongly stand with the protestors.
Yet, today BOI Biyagama had a protest outside the gate. We as a company never restricted workers from joining the protest. We gave an company off to the day shift so they can stand as one for the protests. But unfortunately when our night shift arrived at 8pm still the gates were blocked and people who tried to enter were assaulted. So our staff had to turn away and we lost production for tonight.
We earn our revenue in dollars and a loss of production is a loss in dollars. On the long run it effects our already damaged economy.
We will support all moves that will help recover our Sri-Lankan economy. But we would humbly ask not to let protests harm the manufacturing plants.
